About Fawdon Community Library

Fawdon Community Library has been wholly run by volunteers, following closure of the former City Library service in Fawdon, in 2015. We are based in Fawdon Community Centre, and have a wide selection of books and services, including free access to computers, in our dedicated computer room. Other services include printing, photocopying and refreshments. We run a Family History group each month for those interested in tracing their ancestors, and also ad-hoc computer training courses for beginners. Membership and most of our services are free of charge. We are just 2 minutes walk from Fawdon Metro station and Fawdon Park shopping centre. Find us on Google maps. We opened for business at the end of May and we’d be delighted to see you – whether to browse or borrow a book, to join up (no charge), to offer your help as a volunteer, or to use the Newcastle City Libraries People’s Network computer – free internet access if you are a Newcastle Libraries Member.
