About Fawdon Community Library

Fawdon Community Library has been wholly run by volunteers, following closure of the former City Library service in Fawdon, in 2015. We are based in Fawdon Community Centre, and have a wide selection of books and services, including free access to computers, in our dedicated computer room. Other services include printing, photocopying and refreshments. We run a Family History group each month for those interested in tracing their ancestors, and also ad-hoc computer training courses for beginners. Membership and most of our services are free of charge. We are just 2 minutes walk from Fawdon Metro station and Fawdon Park shopping centre. Find us on Google maps.

Have you been affected by reduced library opening hours?

Our opening times are:

  • Mondays 11am to 5pm
  • Tuesdays 10am-2pm
  • Wednesdays 10am-1pm
  • Thursdays 2pm to 5pm
  • Fridays 10am to 1pm
